About USC’s Capital Campus

“We cannot wait to welcome Trojans to the Nation’s capital as together we fight on for DC’s Comeback.”

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser

The Mission of USC’s Capital Campus

The mission of USC’s Capital Campus is to accelerate our influence and impact, promote and develop strong leaders, and forge critical partnerships to address the nation’s most pressing issues and opportunities.

Building on USC’s existing strengths as one of the nation’s leading universities for ideas, research and innovation, the new campus in Washington, D.C., will significantly expand opportunities for experts, thought-leaders, faculty, students and alumni to serve the public good.

We will accomplish these goals in many ways:

  • Convene experts from inside and outside higher education, and host conferences, seminars, symposiums, events and academic courses;
  • Collaborate with federal and private foundations, think tanks, and civic and business organizations to advance novel ideas and policies to solve important national and global challenges;
  • Work with legislators and institutions across the political spectrum to find common ground to impact policy and legislation;
  • Accelerate dissemination of and support for the ideas and research of USC faculty in science and technology, medicine and health, public policy, business, law, journalism, arts and more;
  • Expand our curriculum to develop leadership, grow programs in experiential and executive education, increase awareness of USC, and advance our competitiveness and reputation as a global leader;
  • Take advantage of USC’s unique profile as the foremost school of schools to be sought after as a valued independent resource for policymakers, innovators, journalists and opinion leaders on myriad subjects;
  • Amplify the impact of the Trojan Family in civic life of our nation’s capital;
  • Create an embassy for Trojans to meet, gather and stay engaged for life;
  • Ensure programs, services and signature events are self-sustaining.

USC has led the charge in the development of Southern California for more than 150 years, and in Washington, D.C., our longstanding commitment to quality and excellence expands our important role in the development of the nation and the world.
